When it comes to maintaining your eyewear and its longevity it is important to start with investing quality pieces, rather than continuously purchasing and replacing cheaper versions. We put together a list of ways that you can extend the life of your frames and keep them looking new.

  1. Protect you lenses from scratches

Put them in their case! Don’t throw them in the center console of your car, into your purse with keys, in your briefcase or into your beach bag with out a case. It is as simple as that. We understand that scratches and cracks do happen, but a lot of the issues we see are a result of improper storage of the frames.

  2. Wash your frames

Now, more than ever, we must take the time to follow through on this process. Not only for the sake of our frames, but the health of our eyes and our face. Are you washing your frames daily? Following these simple steps to keep your frames (and face) looking its best!

    1. Run your frames under warm water (not hot) to remove any excess oils or abrasive material, and then rub them gently with your hands. Use a dot of mild dish soap work into a lather and use warm water again to rinse. This will help naturally release the oil on the lenses. Click here for our favorite dish soap:

    2. Pat dry using a soft cloth, pressing gently on the frames and lenses to absorb most of the water. No need to rub the surface on this step.

    3. Finish by wiping the frames and lenses until clean with a microfiber cloth. We have linked our favorite microfiber towels here.

3. Invest in quality pieces
Investing in eyewear that has been created thoughtfully is crucial to the longevity of your frames. Some of the best pieces are crafted right here in the United States, as well as Italy, Japan and France just to name a few. Manufacturers who use premium materials often have less waste in the manufacturing process, making the raw materials used that more precious. It is this approach that breeds sustainability and gives consumers like you, the highest quality product you deserve.
